Iran and Jordan played a goalless draw in their LG Cup encounter in Amman, Jordan. Iran created more opportunities than their hosts, but failed to capitalize.
Iran’s Ali Karimi and two Jordanian players received yellow cards. And towards the end of the game, one of the Jordanian players was ejected from the game.
Iran’s starting lineup was:
Hassan Roudbarian (GK), Mohammad Nosrati, Hadi Shakouri, Hadi Aghili, Amir Azhari, Alireza Vahedi-Nikbakht, Kianoosh Rahmati, Abbas Aghaei, Anderanik Teimourian, Ali Karimi, Hamid Shafiei
After the half Mehdi Rajabzadeh, Shays Rezaei, Robert Markosi replaced Abbas Aghaei, Amir Azhari, and Hamid Shafiei in that order.
Interestingly, prior to the kickoff Ali Karimi was singled out and welcomed by the stadium’s announcer, and after the game, he seemed to attract more reporters and photographers than any other player on the field.
