Iran have arranged a friendly with Costa Rica as part of their preparations for the start of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Team Melli will host the Central Americans in Tehran on January 30 at the Azadi Stadium, just a week before Iran take their first steps on the road to South Africa.
The draw for qualification will be made in Durban this weekend.
The two nations last met during preparations for the 2006 World Cup.
At the same Tehran arena, Iranian stars Ali Karimi, Ali Daei and Vahid Hashemian got on the scoresheet in a 3-2 win.
Iran should have a new coach in place by the game.
