Only one day after some newspapers printed the supposedly released list of players that were selected by the Team Melli coaching staff for the Oman tournament Team Melli’s assistant coach disowned it!

Houman Afazeli told reporters that the printed list was a fabrication of the media. “Team Melli’s Head Coach (Ali Daei) has not yet announced his official list yet”, said Afazeli.

“Unfortunately some newspapers have published a list for the Oman tournament that is not correct. We (the coaching staff) will do their best to pick the best and readiest players in the league. Fortunately the league has produced many exciting matches, and the coaching staff’s attention to the league has given players extra incentive. We will take the Oman tournament seriously because it will help us better prepare the team”

Afazeli did not say when the real list of 24 will be released.
