Ex-Feyenoord, Stuttgart, Anderlecht and China coach Arie Haan has signed an 18-month contract with Iranian giants Perspolis.

According to PersianFootball.com, the ex-Dutch international, capped 35 times for his country, will oversee the youth development of the Tehran team.

"I am confident that the management will provide the necessary means to accomplish our goals here", said the 57 year—old who left China after the national team was eliminated at the first stage of World Cup qualifiying.

"Iran has high potential in football and your players in Europe are a good witness to such fact. I am going to take advantage of this potential to raise Perspolis to higher ground .”
