Petition on behalf of Iranian Women

3/8/2006
Afshin Afshar, lastkick.com

Dear readers,

Most of you have already heard about what happened in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium during the Iran and Costa Rica friendly.

Friends in the Iranian football community have put together an online petition (click here) on behalf of Iranian women who are being locked out of sports arenas all around the country.

We think that sports organizations all around the world can and should try to make a difference by making the issue of women’s access to stadiums one of their own.

I think this is an issue that is comparable to the race issue that FIFA and UEFA have correctly picked up as a cause.

If you share our view on this, please add your name and pass the word to other friends.

Thanks for your support.
