HSV crowd favourite Mehdi Mahdavikia bruised his right knee during the tought Bundesliga round 28 battle away to Schalke on Sunday (2-0, 2.4.06). The Iran-born winger was stretchered off in considerable pain. The full extent of the injury was revealed following a computer tomography examination. Mahdavikia is considered doubtful of making HSV’s crucial round 29 home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday (9.4.06, kick off 5.30 pm). The Swiss international defensive midfielder Raphael Wicky has a torn calf muscle: "Both players are in danger on missing the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach", revealed the HSV team physician Dr. Gerold Schwartz. Alexander Laas sustained a squashed muscle injury against Schalke. Schwartz: "He has no chance of making Sunday’s game."
