German newspaper Bild has reported that Hamburg SV star and Iranian international Mehdi Mahdavikia has two wives.
According to the popular tabloid, the 28 year-old married Sepideh, his first wife eight years ago and then married Samira, last December in Tehran.
The nightmare situation for the 2003 Asian Player of the Year happened in February when Samira went to see her ‘husband’ in action.
“I introduced myself to another player’s wife as Mrs Mahdavikia,†Samira told the paper. “But the other woman replied, ‘I know Mrs Mahdavikia. You are not her.'"
Allegedly, the World Cup-bound star then dumped Samira – and refused to help her financially.
Bigamy is illegal in Germany but Mahdavikia is in no danger of being prosecuted as both marriages took place in Iran.
In an official club statement, the player confessed to his “big mistakeâ€. “My wife (number one) is sticking by me,†he said.

Har ke kharbozeh mikhoreh, paye larzesh ham mishineh. Kia should have known that being such a star he has responsibilities for his fans and his family. OK, he did it, and now he believes it was a mistake. Isn’t this not the case of who ever has a relationship out of marrige? So, there are lots of way to be honest in this world. Even Islam has recomended in case of many reason anybody wants to get seperate or divorce or marry again. So, how come many men do just take the easy steps? Of course this is not going to be easy for Kia and he has to take it all the way in his life. Unless he is careless again! Hope things with his private life goes well. but people who make news should know that being famous has its downfalls as well! Take it well Kia and come clean from it. I pry for your family to forgive you and I pry for Samira as well to be honest in this in case you made promises to her and broke it. If not, Samira, you had your fun too! let it go. Kia is not for you or any one person. He blongs to the rest of good soccor fans around the world.
